President & CEO

Prof. Dr. Hameedullah Kazi, is an electronic engineer and ICT professional with extensive experience in software development, teaching, research, administration and leadership in academia. He draws experience from a diverse background of having worked in the American telecom sector and software development industry as well as serving in the academia in Pakistan. He obtained Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics) from Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Pakistan, Master of Science in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Purdue University, USA and Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand. He worked as a Software Engineer at Micro Data Base Systems, Inc., USA and as a consultant at Verizon Data Services, USA before joining Isra University. He has presented and published research papers at premier conferences and in journals of world class repute. He serves as an editorial board and program committee member on various leading international conferences and journals. He is also a HEC Approved Supervisor for Ph.D (Computer Science & Engineering). He served as the Management Representative at Isra University for ISO 9001:2008 QMS Certification. He has served as the Project Director for various National and International grants in the technical & development sector. He has served as the Chancellor at Isra University, Hyderabad. Presently, he is the President & CEO of Isra Islamic Foundation.

Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi, holds a doctoral degree in computer science from stony brook University, USA. He specializes in computer systems with particular focus on computer networks. He has an experience of over 10 years in teaching, research, and academic administration. He has been awarded with several scholarships and awards: HEC overseas scholarship for doctoral studies, academic fellowship for Master of Science at Asian Institute of Technology, silver medal for Bachelor of Computer Science at Isra University, and silver medal for Master of Computer Science at Isra University. He has presented and published in reputable international conferences. He also served as Pro-Vice Chancellor of Isra University, Hyderabad and presently working as the Acting Vice Chancellor of Isra University.

Prof. Dr. M. Saleh Memon, former Chancellor of Isra University, is an Ophthalmologist by profession. He graduated from Dow Medical College in 1962, and obtained Diploma in Ophthalmology from London University and FRCS from Edinburgh. He was the chairman of department of Ophthalmology at JPMC. He developed the department to a level of tertiary eye the care institution through philanthropic contributions. He has won awards and has been severally cited by national bodies for his contribution towards Prevention of Blindness in Pakistan and abroad. He conducted WHO training programs in Prevention of Blindness and Assessment of Medical Education outside Pakistan. He has remained National Coordinator for WHO program of Prevention of Blindness, and was instrumental in the conduct of first national survey of Blindness and its Causes in Pakistan. He is the Director of Isra Postgraduate Institute of Ophthalmology.

Prof. Dr. Ghulamqadir Kazi, is an Ophthalmologist by profession. He obtained FRCS from Glasgow, FRC Ophth. from UK, and fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology from King Khalid Specialist Eye Hospital, Riyadh. He worked at senior teaching positions in King Faisal University, Dammam and taught at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has supervised dissertations, conducted research, published in refereed journals and participated in conferences, seminars and symposia. His major achievements are organization of Blindness Prevention Program at national and international levels and pioneering the establishment of Isra University. He has received citations and awards from various organizations. He was recognized as a distinguished Ophthalmologist by the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology in the field of “Prevention of Blindness”. He was also honoured with “Outstanding Humanitarian Service Award” by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He was also declared as the “Man of the year 2005” in the field of Medical Science by the South Asia Publications.

Prof. Dr. Asadullah Kazi, a gold medallist of the University of Sindh, holds master’s and doctoral degrees in engineering geology from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, London. He has over forty years of experience in application of geology to civil engineering practice. Besides working in the former SEATO Graduate School, and UNESCO, he has held senior faculty positions in national and international institutes of repute. He has published more than sixty five technical papers in refereed journals and conferences of international repute and participated in several conferences, seminars and symposia. He is listed in the internationally credited MARQUIS “Who is Who in Science and Engineering (1996)” and “Who is Who in the World (2001)”. He was declared, “Man of the year 2002″ in education, by the South Asia Publications. He is listed in the “Top 100 Engineers (2008)” by the International Biographical Centre, England (U.K.)

Prof. Dr. Ameer Bux Channa, was the first Dean of Faculty of Medicine and Allied Medical Sciences of Isra University. He graduated from Liaquat Medical College in 1968. In 1973 he was supported by British Postgraduate Medical Federation and in 1974 obtained Diploma in Anesthesia (DA) from Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) and Royal College of Physicians (RCP). Later in 1977 he received Fellowship in Anesthesia and Intensive Care (FA) from Royal College of Ireland. He is member of several professional associations including American Heart Association. He worked with the Iranian Oil Company as intensivist in Ahwaz, Iran and then joined King Saud University as Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesia where he was promoted to ranks of Associate and Professor in due course of time. Prof. Channa is one of the pioneers of the fellowship programs in Anesthesia in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in cooperation with RCS London and later RCS Ireland. He was honored as the best teacher in the residency program of King Saud Fellowship. He has published more than forty research papers in refereed journals and written more than ten editorials. He is author of many booklets and has contributed chapters to books on policy and procedures to be followed in operating rooms and intensive care units. His research findings in area of medical illnesses in pilgrims, particularly heat illnesses, genetics, and intensive care have been incorporated by well known books on intensive care worldwide. He has been a reviewer of scientific journals and editor of a newsletter of the Association of Anesthesia of Saudi Arabia. He is a founding member of Isra Islamic Foundation.

Prof. Dr. Nazir Ashraf Laghari, ,former Chariman and Head of the Department of Ophthalmology LUMHS, Jamshoro is an Opthalmologist by profession. He holds DO (England), FCPS (Pakistan), FRCS (Ireland), and FRCOphth (London). He established the Eye department at LUMHS, Jamshoro and brought the Ophthalmological Society of Pakistan (OSP) to Hyderabad. He has published more than 20 scientific research papers in national and international journals. He has actively participated, presented scientific work and attended international conferences on more than 60 occasions. He is a recipient of Meritorious Awards from the President of Pakistan and Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology. He worked as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine & Allied Medical Sciences, and the Director of Isra Institute of Ophthalmology.
